6:00 – 6:20People, Process and Things – Business/IT Alignment in Time of Radical Change
Mark Notschaele, head of Program Management, Cetrel SA, Luxembourg

Cetrel, based in Luxembourg, is a technology and service provider in the domain of mass transactions treatment in the e-money business – running 24/7, 365 days a year. Cetrel’s case is really a prime example of the influence of „More Europe“ on business arena in the financial industry, and the consequences this has on an organisation as Cetrel. Having to adapt very quickly to a changing business environment where failure is not an option, best practices in the transformation program are a pillar of “trust” to execute towards the desired state fast, while ruling out common mistakes and loosing time on „inventing your own“. Such a dramatic business change process is however not easy and takes a lot of determination – where in order of importance first alignment between the Business and IT (People) is crucial, followed by best practices (Processes) and tools (Things) – as the story will outline.

Dipl.-Ing. Mark Notschaele has over 24 years experience in Portfolio, Programme, Project and Service Delivery Manager in ICT, petro-chemical, manufacturing, and the financial world. He currently works for Cetrel SA, Luxembourg as head of PMO.

6:20 – 6:40Governance aspects of IT and Business Alignment
Piet-Hein Prince, Director Accounts, Industries and Business Development at Ernst & Young Luxembourg SA
The objective of the presentation is to give insight into the practical application of Governance and the Balanced ScoreCard as a means to achieve IT and Business Alignment. We will also briefly address the importance of architecture (infrastructure and application landscape) within the context of project portfolio management as a tool that can be used in IT and Business Alignment.

Piet-Hein is a Director at Ernst & Young Luxembourg SA. Throughout his career he has been focusing on the areas of PMO Design and Setup, (IT) Program Advisory, IT Governance and Business Process Redesign. Furthermore Piet-Hein thrives on program advisory on technology enabled change initiatives, Third Party Management, Outsourcing, Business and IT alignment. In addition, he is developing Mediation practices for complex (IT) project environments that suffer from (supplier) conflicts.
